Letter #222

Content Warnings: Depression, Self-deprecation, Guilt, Shame.

Dear friend,

I hope that this letter will offer a sense of comfort. Please try to read it in a comfortable way. Days might seem long, but they are still valuable in their own right. Never underestimate the importance of night and day, and let hope and love light the way.

Struggling with depression does come with its own unique challenges. These difficulties involve much more than just sadness. Nevertheless, there is never a need to wallow in guilt and shame. Furthermore, there is no need to blame anyone for hard times. Instead, please try to offer a sense of compassion, and even practice acts of forgiveness as strategies to move towards a brighter future.

Finally, even though depression might make life very dull and boring, try to alter that negative perspective into a more optimistic outlook on life. In fact, life within itself really could be extraordinary, but only with the belief that it truly is.

Sincerely,

A friend.
