Letter #95

Content Warnings: anxiety, depression

Dear friend,

I have struggled with anxiety and depression since I was in middle school, and I am currently a junior in college. Mental health is a long and hard journey, but eventually, you will realize that you are not alone. I have come to appreciate the trials my mental health has put me through. Because of the difficult times that I’ve experienced, I have become stronger, wiser, more empathetic, and more grateful for the little things in life. Mental health adversities are difficult, but like many say, it does get better.

I am going to leave you with one of my favorite quotes:

“Mental health does not define who you are, it is something that you experience. You walk in the rain, and you feel the rain, but you are not the rain.”

You are not the rain, my friend; you are a flower that is growing into something beautiful. You are loved.

Sincerely,

A friend
