Dear Shugarrrr,
Waiting is hard.
Failure is harder. Have you ever waited for something for so long and still failed at it?Yeah, it happened to me, also. Waiting is hard, Waiting and failing, the hardest!
I hate the pain of bygones and what could be and this is what waiting and failing has shown me time and again.
I have tried and tried and yet nothing is different.
Somedays my reflection tells me I’m hardworking,
Other days it tells me I’m having
A day full of confidence and then a decade of despondency.
But you know what waiting has taught me:
“Someday it will end”
Whatever happens, someday I will surely stop waiting
Yours truly,
D
Dear Shugarrr,
I used to live in hope. Whenever I saw opportunities and applied diligently, I would begin to hope.
My hope carries me on invisible wings and before you know it, I have begun to dream. I
dream of getting the opportunity, I dream of the work I do, I dream of the perks that come with it.
I dream about my family and community that enjoys the perks with me.
I dream and I dream, and I swear I could almost taste it. I swear I’ve got drool on me,
tethering towards my becoming.
Alas!
In a minute I come crashing down. I’d imagine this was how Icarus felt after his wings
melted. It is what happens when I dream too much.
The pain, the numbness, the thoughts , the unbelief, the despair, the desperation to forget.
All of it coalesces and becomes searing.
I’m scared to dream, dear Shugarrrr. It simply doesn’t come true anymore.
Yours truly,
D
