Letter #286 – Journal 4

Lately, I feel like my life has been governed by a facade that doesn’t reflect how much of a mess I truly am. On the surface, I seem poised, collected, and focused; I have maintained my significant extracurricular load and have kept my grades up. I am just as social as ever. I power through life with an ambition that doesn’t seem to fade.

Beneath this, though, it feels like my world is falling apart. I am seized by a constant sense of insecurity and anxiety that drives me to procrastination. I constantly compare myself to others, never satisfied. Even my room is a mess; laundry I can’t seem to bring myself to pick up is strewn across the floor.

  1. I honestly understand what you mean. I’ve had a period when I felt pretty much the same way — from the outside everything seemed fine, I was doing my things, talking to people and moving forward, but inside I felt completely overwhelmed.

So I just want to say that you’re not alone in feeling like this. And please don’t judge yourself because of things like procrastinating or having a messy room. When your head is overloaded, even simple things can feel impossible.

For me, it eventually got better. I didn’t fix everything overnight, but little by little things started to feel more manageable. I really hope it will be the same for you.

If you ever feel like talking about it, I’m here and I’ll listen. You don’t have to pretend that everything is okay.

  2. Feelings ups and downs is something we all go through , but what we must do is get up and do what we think we wants, not others, perhaps if you don’t know this is a thing to start with, remember we are human because we feel, that’s what make each one of us unique identity , that’s why we all different as we should, and why getting in to someone’s shoes won’t ever make us feel valued , because you are not living your life .
In one word you may start with your room.
you friend from Iraq , hope helped out you with something,
    warm regards ,
    Fazan.
