Content Warnings: Mental health struggles, uncertainty

Dear friend,

As a 21-year-old, I find myself very uptight, wanting everything to go a specific way. I have to admit, I have a lot more stability with my mental health, but it’s still not quite where it needs to be. And it’s going to take time to find a healthy way of coping with my mental struggles. I can’t explain it—even though I’m making progress with my mental health, I’m still not happy. Something feels off. Like I’m not where I’m supposed to be. Or where I want to be. I guess I’m just afraid of being unhappy and not living a good life. But here’s the thing: I might not know exactly what’s happening in my life right now, but I can still embrace those happy moments, whenever they come. I might not be where I want to be mentally, but I still experience joy in my everyday life. People always say that it’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey. The journey is just as important as the destination. And something important for me to remember is that the journey isn’t always gonna be easy. There are gonna be days where I wonder if it gets better. But there are also gonna be some terrific days where I’m happy to live life. I’m slowly learning to embrace everything that life hands me, and it is an incredibly humbling and rewarding experience.

From,

A friend
